The AFC South division race could take a turn in Week 12.

Up to this point in the season, the Indianapolis Colts have controlled the division lead, and with a record of 8-2, they are still positioned quite well.

However, the race could be on the verge of tightening up a little bit.

Following Houston's win on Thursday night over Buffalo, the Texans are now 6-5, just two games behind the Colts in the win column.

Jacksonville, meanwhile, is 6-4 on the season and has a matchup on Sunday with the 3-7 Arizona Cardinals.

What adds to the intrigue of this pursuit of the division title is that the Colts still play both the Jaguars and Texans twice this season.

Those games will either provide the Colts with an opportunity to further separate themselves, or Houston and/or Jacksonville could close the gap on the division lead.

Up next for the Colts is a road game against the Kansas City Chiefs. Regardless of the outcome, Indianapolis will still be positioned well within the division, but there might be two teams hanging around in the rearview mirror.

AFC South standings

  • Indianapolis Colts 8-2

  • Jacksonville Jaguars 6-4

  • Houston Texans 6-5

  • Tennessee Titans 1-9
