Nick Saban calls Ohio State fans ‘psychotic’ about Michigan rivalry

The No. 15 Michigan Wolverines (9-2) have won four in a row over the No. 1 Ohio State Buckeyes (11-0). It’s arguably the best rivalry in college sports and American sports, and the two programs face off on Saturday at Michigan Stadium.

The fanbases always take shots at one another online, and frustrations have only grown in recent years for OSU fans with the Buckeyes’ last beating Michigan in 2019. On Wednesday afternoon, former Alabama head coach Nick Saban evaluated the fervor he sees from Ohio State fans directed at Michigan.

“These Ohio State fans, they’re psychotic about this, man,” Saban said. “They need to go see a doctor some place. I’d rather win the national championship than beat Michigan, but that’s just me.”

Saban does have a point. This is a fan base that attempts to put an X over every M on Ohio State’s campus during the week of The Game and a program that calls Michigan “the team up north.” If Michigan beats Ohio State for the fifth consecutive season, we’ll soon see how accurate Saban’s comments are.
