In an exciting announcement, Universal Studios Japan has announced its lineup for the upcoming Universal Cool Japan 2026 event. The event will open on January 30, and will see five major franchises be brought to life.

As fans would know, the event usually features interactive experiences based on anime, manga, and video games. This time, the five franchises are Detective Conan, Jujutsu Kaisen, Masquerade, Monster Hunters Wilds, and Frieren: Beyond Journey's End.

Detective Conan, Jujutsu Kaisen, and Frieren to Feature in Universal Cool Japan 2026

Universal Cool Japan is a seasonal event at Universal Studios Japan that brings popular Japanese franchises to life through immersive attractions. This time, the event will feature three anime, namely Detective Conan, Jujutsu Kaisen, and Frieren: Beyond Journey's End, one novel series, Masquerade, and one game, Monster Hunters Wilds.

Universal Cool Japan 2026 will open on January 30, 2026. Nevertheless, one of its attractions, "Monster Hunter Wilds: Moriba's Feast" opened earlier on November 19. The attraction will remain open until May 17, 2026. Hence, fans can join the "Moriba Banquet" and enjoy authentic campfire cooking right now.

As for the other attractions, except for the Frieren: Beyond Journey's End one, they will all open on January 30, 2026. Up until now, the Frieren: Beyond Journey's End attraction has only revealed its visual featuring Frieren, Fern, and Stark, and an early Summer 2026 opening.

Speaking of the other attractions, while Detective Conan and Masquerade attractions will end on June 30, 2026, the Jujutsu Kaisen immersive experience will run until August 18, 2026.

What to Expect From the Anime Attractions in Universal Cool Japan 2026?

Considering that Frieren: Beyond Journey's End has yet to reveal its event information, Universal Cool Japan 2026 has only released details on two anime attractions, "Detective Conan World" (Detective Conan) and "Jujutsu Kaisen: The Real 4-D" (Jujutsu Kaisen).

"Detective Conan World," is set to showcase an astonishing evolution with a new level of tension. Conan is going to be exposed to an unprecedented crisis and fans will get to dive into the thrilling mystery experience with three attractions, namely Detective Conan: The Escape, Detective Conan Mystery Restaurant, and Detective Conan x Story Ride.

Meanwhile, "Jujutsu Kaisen: The Real 4-D" will allow fans to jump into the battle against the curses with Yuji Itadori and his friends. While the attraction has yet to reveal its complete details, the immersive experience will feature Jujutsu Kaisen x Story Ride. Universal Studios Japan will likely reveal more information about the attractions closer to the opening day.
