ESPN predicts the winner of Clemson football vs South Carolina

The Clemson Tigers will look to make it nine wins over the rival South Carolina Gamecocks in the series' last 11 meetings when they close the 2025 college football regular season at Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia Saturday.

Clemson (6-5) clinched bowl eligibility with a 45-10 win over Furman last Saturday in the home finale at Memorial Stadium. Cade Klubnik threw for 159 yards and two touchdowns to Antonio Williams (two catches, 57 yards) in the victory.

Receiver Tyler Brown had a 21-yard touchdown run on a reverse. Freshmen tight ends Christian Bentancur and Logan Brooking caught touchdown passes from backup quarterbacks Christopher Vizzina and Chris Denson, respectively.

Denson, a freshman and consensus three-star recruit in the class of 2025 from Plant City High School in Florida, completed all four passes for 22 yards and rushed for another 106 yards. He ran for a 10-yard touchdown with nine seconds remaining. Denson suffered an injury in practice this week, coach Dabo Swinney announced Tuesday.

South Carolina (4-7), which will fall short of a bowl game after a 9-3 regular season a year ago, defeated Coastal Carolina, 51-7, in Week 13. LaNorris Sellers completed 16 of his 20 passes for 274 yards and two touchdowns. Sellers also rushed for 82 yards and another two scores.

Will Clemson beat South Carolina? ESPN's prediction

Will Clemson avoid a second straight loss to South Carolina? Oddsmakers have the Gamecocks as a slight favorite over the Tigers entering Week 14, but as always, ESPN analytics has its own odds for Saturday's game.

ESPN's matchup predictor, which offers a prediction model based on its college football power index and other variables, gives South Carolina a 63.5% chance to win and Clemson a 36.5% chance.

The Tigers are 33rd in ESPN's latest FPI ratings. Clemson has an 8.2 overall FPI rating. South Carolina has a 10.8 rating that's 27th in ESPN's metrics.
