49ers DB named NFC Defensive Player of the Week for Week 12

The San Francisco 49ers downed the Carolina Panthers 20-9 on Monday night at Levi's Stadium, in large part because of the effort from safety Ji'Ayir Brown.

Brown, 25, finished the game with five tackles and two interceptions, including one in the end zone that really kept the 49ers alive while Brock Purdy was in the middle of throwing three interceptions himself in the first half.

The 2023 third-round pick's performance earned him NFC Defensive Player of the Week honors. This is Brown's first time receiving the award, and he's the second 49er to earn it this year after Fred Warner did so in Week 2.

Brown had some struggles earlier this season, but he seems to really be coming into his own over the last few weeks.
