A German shepherd’s behavior after being at daycare for two days straight has gone viral on social media, leaving internet users in tears.

In a viral TikTok video shared on Saturday by the pup’s owner, under the username @ellieroseparnham, the canine can be seen fast asleep on the couch, hugging the armrest with his paws, as if he missed it while he was away.

“I knew it hurt when he slept like this all day after being at doggy daycare for two days," the poster wrote in the caption. “Never again.”

While daycare is a great option for busy owners who spend a lot of time away from their pups, some dogs, especially those who are less sociable, don’t particularly enjoy it.

But this doesn’t mean that you have to leave them home alone until you’re back. There are plenty of care options for all types of pups, each specific to their personality.

A good option for shy dogs who don’t tend to get along easily with other pups is pet-sitting at home. Hiring a professional to care for your pet in your own helps their keep their routine and avoid stress while you’re gone. However, it can be expensive.

For dogs who enjoy the company of other fellow canines, boarding facilities or daycare are wonderful options. These places allow overnight stays while giving your friendly pup the chance to make new friends. They are much cheaper than pet-sitting.

Another great option for pups who don’t like being among other dogs is home-boarding with a sitter. Leaving your pet at someone else’s home is a middle ground between kennels and home care, but still more affordable than at home pet sitting.

The video quickly went viral on social media and it has so far received over 181,000 views and 3,054 likes on the platform.

One user, Im_prolly_nekkid, commented: “Doggy daycare are incredibly stressful for most dogs.—former doggy daycare employee.”

Ghost47766 said: “Tired dog equals bad now? Tired dog is a good thing.”

Caliii04 wrote: “This is exactly how I want my dog after daycare. She’s excited to go in every time which is the most telling sign she’s enjoying it and will sleep as much as she needs at home afterwards.”
