RAYNHAM — A teen from the Raynham area is now a gold medalist.
Tia LaBrecque, 16, traveled to the 2025 Deaflympics in Tokyo, Japan. On Nov. 24, she started in the Gold Medal game, and she and the U.S. Women's Deaf National Soccer Team defeated Japan 4-0, according to reporting from media partner WCVB.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisement"I'm so excited because I get to represent my country," LaBrecque said in prior reporting from The Enterprise. "My brother (Cameron, 24) is a Marine (who just got home from Camp Lejeune in North Carolina), so it goes hand in hand."
LaBrecque is a junior at Bishop Feehan High School. She's been deaf all of her life, born with bilateral sensorineural hearing loss in both of her ears. In addition to the national team, she also has played on the school's soccer team as well.

"Huge congratulations to Tia LaBrecque ’27 and the U.S. Women’s Deaf National Soccer Team for bringing home the gold at the 2025 Deaflympics in Fukushima, Japan!" the school posted on its Facebook page. "With a 4–0 victory over Japan in the final, the team secured its fifth gold medal. We’re so proud of you, Tia!"
