A Bollywood sequel to an award-winning legal comedy film series has skyrocketed on streaming just weeks after the film's release on Netflix. There are plenty of Bollywood movies on Netflix demonstrating the streamer's dedication to highlighting international films, especially those made in India. This includes ones they have exclusive distribution rights for, alongside others in their general catalog of films.
Now, Netflix reports one recent Bollywood sequel, Jolly LLB 3, has become a massive hit for the streaming service. The latest installment in the legal comedy-drama series is the Number 1 non-English language movie on the platform for the week of November 17 to November 23, 2025. It garnered 14 million hours watched over 5.4 million views worldwide.
Jolly LLB 3 is also the Number 1 movie in nine countries around the world, those being India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Bahrain, the Maldives, Oman, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, and Mauritius. Overall, the movie is on the individual Top 10 lists of 17 countries overall, all of which coalesced to give it the global Number 1 spot it currently holds.
Character looking worried in Jolly LLB 3
The Bollywood legal film comedy features a team-up between the protagonists of the series' first two movies, those being Advocate Jagdishwar 'Jolly' Mishra (Akshay Kumar) and Advocate Jagdish 'Jolly' Tyagi (Arshad Warsi). The movie received generally positive reviews from critics for its entertainment value. It also managed a decent box office run upon theatrical release in September 2025.
What makes the film's success stand out, however, is its role in an award-winning franchise. 2013's Jolly LLB won five awards, including Best Feature Film in Hindi at India's 61st National Film Awards. Jolly LLB 2 was nominated for nine awards after its 2017 release, with Kumar winning Best Male Actor by viewer choice at the Zee Cine Awards.
Given how well-received Akshay Kumar's comedy movies are, it's not a surprise Jolly LLB 3 has been able to carry itself so high onto Netflix's Top 10 list. His starring role, coupled with the awards won by the previous two movies, emphasizes the series' global popularity. It also means the film could continue to see success as the weeks progress.
With Jolly LLB 3 dominating Netflix's charts, the sequel has clearly left an impression on a worldwide audience. While it's too early to tell if the movie will be up for any awards like its predecessors, the possibility remains open. Luckily, it seems many eyes are going to be on the legal comedy for quite some time.
