Although the Indianapolis Colts are coming off a tough overtime loss on Sunday to the Chiefs, everything that this team wants to achieve is still out in front of them.

At 8-3 on the season, the Colts are still leading the AFC South. However, that race has tightened in recent weeks.

In the AFC playoff picture, the Colts are the three seed, just one game behind Denver for the two seed and 1.5 games behind New England for the top seed in the conference.

With that said, in order to accomplish those goals of winning the division and perhaps catching Denver and/or New England, the Colts have to navigate a very difficult stretch of games to end the season.

Awaiting the Colts over the final six games of the season are two games with Jacksonville, two games with Houston, a matchup with Seattle, and a game against San Francisco.

None of those teams has a losing record at the moment. Three of those games will be at home, and three will be on the road.

Compared to the rest of the NFL, the Colts have the third-toughest remaining strength of schedule, according to ESPN's Football Power Index.

As we know, the game of football isn't played on paper, but the upcoming opponents do highlight one of the challenges facing the Colts over this final stretch of the season.

To put a positive spin on this, in the playoffs, there are only good teams -- so this stretch of games is a great way to prepare for that level of competition.
