Nebraska men's basketball (7-0) returned home Tuesday night following its victory at the Hall of Fame Classic to take on Winthrop (3-4). In an intense showdown, the Huskers earned another win, taking down the Eagles 80-73.

Winthrop delivered the fight, even holding the lead over Nebraska for a chunk of the game. The Huskers entered halftime trailing 36-32 but managed to bounce back in the second. Rienk Mast commanded the floor on the night, helping Nebraska grab the win after tallying 31 points. He shot 11-of-18 from the floor and 7-of-10 from beyond the arc while also securing five rebounds and four assists.

The Huskers finished 29-of-69 in total shooting, 13-of-38 from three-point range, and 9-of-10 from the free throw line. Winthrop, meanwhile, hit 26-of-69, 13-of-42, and 8-of-13, respectively, and outrebounded Nebraska 48-38. But Mast's 22 points in the second half helped the Huskers power through.

Cale Jacobsen and Braden Frager each pitched 11 points for Nebraska, along with six rebounds. Pryce Sandfort rounded out the Huskers' double-digit scorers, tallying 10 points on the night and earning a team-high eight rebounds.

Nebraska remains home for its next matchup, welcoming in South Carolina Upstate on Saturday afternoon. Tipoff is set for 1 p.m. CT on B1G+.
