PHILADELPHIA -- The Philadelphia 76ers were in the midst of getting blown out at home by the Orlando Magic on Tuesday night. The Sixers led by seven toward the end of the first quarter, but the Magic then responded with a huge run and eventually walked away with an easy 144-103 win.
In the midst of being outscored 51-25 in the second quarter, Andre Drummond tried to give the Sixers a spark and throw the Magic off their game a bit. As Orlando brought the ball down ready to begin another offensive set, Drummond began messing with Magic big man Wendell Carter Jr. Once he got a response, Drummond squared up with Carter, and the two of them were in the middle of a scuffle.

In the end, Drummond and Carter ended up with double technical fouls, Suggs was ejected after picking up two techs, and Philadelphia's Jabari Walker picked up a tech.
"I had to stop the bleeding, man," Drummond said after the loss. "I had to stop the bleeding. They went on a crazy run. For me—if you can see me, I looked up at the score, and I was, like, ‘Man, this (expletive) is nasty. I gotta do something.’ And I was just (expletive) with him and he reacted. I was like ‘OK, I gotta capitalize on it!’"
In the end, the attempt didn't do much as the Magic extended their lead to 46 in the second half as it was an ugly loss for the Sixers, but one can't blame Drummond for trying.
"I mean, I’m not one of those players who do anything dirty, so once I did what I had to do, I was clapping because I got the reaction I was looking for, I got somebody thrown out hoping it would get us going a little bit," Drummond added. "Still ended up losing by 30-plus so it was one of those nights for us. Gotta learn from it, watch film, and move on to the next one."
The Sixers will take on the Brooklyn Nets on Friday to finish up the NBA Cup part of the schedule. After this loss to the Magic, they are now 0-3 in Group B play so they are eliminated from advancing to the knockout rounds.
