Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow is set to make his return to the field on Thanksgiving night against the Baltimore Ravens, his first action since suffering a toe injury back in Week 2.

Burrow is no stranger to missing extended periods of time. Throughout his NFL career, he's suffered two season-ending injuries. An ACL tear cost him the second half of his rookie year, and a wrist ligament injury kept him out of the 2023 campaign.

Luckily, this turf toe injury wasn't a season-ender, but the concerns remain. Could Burrow reinjure himself in his return? With the Bengals all but out of playoff contention, should he even suit up?

Joe Burrow isn't worried about more injuries

When speaking with the press ahead of his return, Burrow was asked why he would risk another serious injury.

"I'm a football player. If I get hurt, I'm gonna go through the rehab process and then I'm gonna let everybody know when I feel like I can go out there and play...I’m not gonna ever go to somebody and say 'I'm healthy, but I don’t think I should go out there and play,'"Burrow said.

"That doesn’t make a lot of sense to me. I’m not gonna live my life and play this game, scared of something happening. Yeah, something’s gonna happen. It’s football."

It's an admirable mindset, and one you certainly want your franchise quarterback to have.

But that doesn't change the fact that Bengals fans will be covering their eyes every time they see Burrow take a hit on Thanksgiving night.
