Denver Broncos inside linebacker Alex Singleton underwent successful surgery for testicular cancer earlier this month, and after missing just one game, he could be back on the field coming out of the team's bye week.

In an interview with ABC's Trevor Ault for "Good Morning America," Singleton indicated that he's hoping to play against the Washington Commanders on Sunday Night Football on Nov. 30, less than a month after his cancer diagnosis.

Singleton is expected to return to practice on Wednesday, 19 days after surgery, according to KUSA-TV's Mike Klis. The 31-year-old team captain leads the team with 89 tackles -- 13 more than the next-closest teammate (Talanoa Hufanga), despite missing a game.

Singleton now wants to be a voice for early detection. The linebacker said he doesn't like going to the doctor, but he has since realized "how quick it is, how easy it is and how detectable it is through that."

"I want to be the guy that's staying on the top of every mountain just going, 'Get this done,'" he said.
