The Minnesota Twins had a disappointing 2025.

Only winning 70 games with a talented roster led to some pre-trade deadline movement and plenty of speculation about what comes next.

That makes this winter's free agency particularly important. It's a chance for the Twins to try and jumpstart themselves toward a much better 2026.

One player who could help: Kenley Jansen.

The Athletic's Andy McCullough has suggested one player for every team to sign, and he has the Twins going after Jansen.

Minnesota traded star closer Jhoan Duran at the trade deadline to the Phillies, and Jansen could take on that role for the Twins.

"The Twins want to rebuild the bullpen and they don’t intend to spend much in the process," McCullough writes. "Luckily for them, there are bargains to be found... Let’s go with the man at the top of the list, and the only one in this crew with a chance of reaching the Hall of Fame."

Jansen has 476 career saves.

Even in 2025 with the Angels, he had 29 saves and a 2.59 ERA.

His cutter still gets the job done.

Jansen recently turned 38 years old, so he doesn't have a ton of career left. But he's lasted a long, long time since his days as a minor league catcher converting to the mound.

His next stop could be Minnesota.
