It was Cupcake Saturday. For many SEC teams that meant playing FCS or non-Power FBS teams. For the Big Ten and Notre Dame, it meant business as usual.

A LITTLE SOMETHING TO ESS-EE-SEE HERE

Texas 52 Arkansas 37 – Arch Manning passed for four touchdowns, ran for one and caught another. No turnovers or sacks allowed for the Longhorns in one of their better outings offensive-wise. Arky continues to put points on the board. Unfortunately, their defense is atrocious. The Hogs are now up to 34.1 points allowed per game – 126th out of 136 in FBS.

Tennessee 31 Florida 11 – The Vols won in the Swamp for the first time since 2003. The only upset is that Gators quarterback DJ Lagway did not throw a pick!

Oklahoma 17 Missouri 7 – Take away the above play and Okie had only 189 yards of offense. Missouri’s Ahmad Hardy finished with just 57 yards on 17 carries. The Sooners stay hot with an awesome defense and a lousy offense.

Vanderbilt 45 Kentucky 17 – Vandy QB Diego Pavia threw for a career-high 484 yards and five touchdowns, and handed UK their 6th loss of the 2025 campaign. The ‘Cats will need to beat Louisville on the road to get to a bowl.

NOTHING TO ESS-EE-SEE HERE

Alabama 56 Eastern Illinois 0 – The Tide dominated a really bad team. The defense held the Panthers to 34 total yards and 2 first downs. The offense… well, let’s just say the above 20 yard run was the longest play from scrimmage.

Auburn 62 Mercer 17 – The War Plains Eagles struggled with the Bears early on. Mercer led 14-7 for awhile and trailed only 21-17 in the 2nd quarter. But you can imagine what happened next.

Texas A&M 48 Samford 0 – Not exactly what one would expect from the No. 3 team in the nation against a one-win FCS team with a fired head coach.

Georgia 35 Charlotte 3 – It was the usual schlock from the Dwags against a 1-10 team.

South Carolina 51 Coastal Carolina 7 – 579 total yards versus 220.

LSU 13 Western Kentucky 10 – The Bayou Bengals came so close to a spectacular meltdown.

Notre Dame 70 Syracuse 7 – WOW! BEAT A 3-8 ACC TEAM! MOVE THEM UP!

OTHER STUFF

Oregon 42 Southern Cal 27 – It’s so hilarious how the flapping lips tried to build the Trojans up as some big bad contender.

Wisconsin 27 Illinois 10 – The Badgers got their first 100-yard rusher of the season in Darrion Dupree had 131 yards rushing and two touchdowns. He had 26 yards against Bama. The Illini had been ranked No. 21 for some reason. For Wisky, (4-7) it is their second win in the last three.

Utah 51 Kansas State 47 – K-State let a 10 point lead slip away in the 4th quarter. Both teams had over 550 total yards of offense in a ridiculous display of defense by both squads.

Pitt 42 Georgia Tech 28 – The Panthers jumped out to a 28-0 advantage after roughly 18 minutes of play and the Yeller Jackets could never quite catch up.

Duke 32 North Carolina 25 – The Blue Devils earn bowl eligibility by defeating the Heels in Chapel Hill on a bold fake field goal call down one point. Duke would punch in the go-ahead 1-yard touchdown with a little over 2 minutes remaining. On the ensuing possession, UNC was penalized for two consecutive unsportsmanlike conduct fouls. Then, they were hit with a holding call. A sack on 3rd & 7 ended the threat. The loss is Carolina’s 7th of the season.

NC State 21 Florida State 11 – The ‘Noles fall to 5-6 with the finale at Florida to gain a bowl berth. BTW, this is exactly what Tommy Castellanos did last season – start hot and then turn stone cold – except he was smartly benched at BC.

SMU 38 Louisville 6 – The Mustangs (8-3, 6-1) have seemingly come out of nowhere and remain in the hunt for the ACC crown. The ‘Ville has crashed and burned. After ascending to the No. 15th ranked team, they have lost three straight to unranked teams. Let’s hope they make it four in a row.

Iowa 20 Michigan State 17 – Sparty had a 17-7 lead in the 4th and this ↑↑↑ happened. Coach Jonathan Smith might be getting a pink slip pretty soon, but it won’t be cheap. For some reason, he is the 27th highest-paid coach in college football, according to USA TODAY’s 2025 compensation survey. The Spartans coach is set to earn a total of $7,350,000, not including bonuses.

BYU 26 Cincinnati 14 – LJ Martin romped for 222 yards and two TDs as the Coogs dashed any fleeting hopes of Cincy of getting to the B12CG.

Miami-FL 34 Virginia Tech 17 – The ‘Canes got Dr. Jekyll Carson Beck (27/32-320-4-0) this week. Is the ‘U’ (9-2, 5-2) going to sneak into the CFP?

• Southern Miss (7-4) – The Golden Eagles attempted a huge comeback down 35-7 to South Alabama but could not finish, losing 42-35. It’s two defeats in a row for USM with Troy coming to town. Winner takes the West Division.

• Georgia Tech (9-2) – The Yeller Jackets are falling apart. Since starting 9-0, they lost to NC State, barely escaped Boston College, and then fell to Pitt on Saturday 42-28. The YJs face UGA on Friday after Thanksgiving.

• Western Michigan (7-4) – With a 35-19 win over NIU, Lance Taylor has his Broncos on the verge of a regular season MAC championship.

COUSINS

• Jacksonville State (7-4) – The Gamecocks fell to a surging FIU team 27-21. Next is a HUGE game with WKU.

• South Alabama (4-7) – The Jags shocked Southern Miss 42-35. USA concludes a miserable season @Texas State.

• Troy (7-4) – The Trojans smacked the hapless Georgia State Panthers around 31-19. The Men of Troy head out to Southern Miss and then await a bowl invitation.

• UAB (3-8) – Wow. Maybe shutting down this program is not such a bad idea after all. Daniel Mincey is charged with stabbing fellow Dragons defensive end JaSire Peterson and defensive tackle Josh Underwood. Mincey, 20, played on the offensive line and had transferred to UAB after a stint at Kentucky. Mincey is charged with attempted murder against Peterson and first-degree assault against Underwood. Mincey remains at the Jefferson County Jail on a total $90,000 bond. The stabbing happened Saturday morning at the UAB Football Operations Center, just hours before the team was to face South Florida at home. Following the stabbing, several players decided to sit out of the game (soft). UAB ended up losing, 48-18. The players have since been released from the hospital. The Dragons put a bow on this dumpster fire at Tulsa.

• Army (5-5) – The Black Knights blew a 25-14 4th quarter lead to Tulsa and lost on a game-winning field goal with 12 ticks to go. Now a trip to UTSA.

• Air Force (3-8) – The Falcons managed only 161 yards against New Mexico and fell 20-3. Rivalry game at Colorado State wraps up a lousy campaign.

• Navy (8-2) – The Midshipmen had a week of R&R before a deployment to Memphis.

A way WAY WAY too early look at the College Football Playoff (CFP) picture

Pete Carroll is otherwise engaged, but I like where this guy is going with this. Other candidates should be Frank Beamer, Mark Dantonio, Trent Dilfer (doubtful he gets another HC job), Butch Davis, and add in a few former players who don’t have obvious signs of CTE. Furthermore, it might not be such a bad thing to add some retired members of the press such as Mark May, Dennis Dodd, and Brent Musburger. Gary Danielson is set to retire from CBS at the conclusion of the 2025 season. Perhaps get him in there. They probably have better insight than any AD.

• SEC – A&M and UGA seem like locks. Ole Miss might be too unless they lay an Egg on Friday. Alabama and Okie need to keep winning. A Vandy win at Tennessee might turn some heads.

• Big Ten – anOSU and Indy are likely in, even with a loss. So-So Cal is eliminated. Michy might be after this weekend. The B1G would love nothing more than have the Wolvies beat the Buckets. Oregon plays at former PAC rival Washington.

NEXT 2

• Big 12 – Four teams still have a shot at the B12 Championship Game: Texa$ Tech, BYU, Utah, and Arizona State. The Coogs only have to beat sorry-ass Center Florida at home. The Utes are at blah Kansas the the Committee is trying with all their might to get that mediocre team in the playoff. It is highly unlikely that the Sun Devils get in the CFP. They would need to beat Zona, hope for chaos to get into the B12CG and then win it.

• ACC – Six ACC’s still have a prayer.

AT LARGE

• Indies – Notre Dame is at Stanford (4-7) who already b**w their l**d in a win over Cal – the only game they care about. Expect minimal effort from the Trees. After the Irish kick the crud out of them, they don’t have the curse of playing in a Championship Game. We told you back in September this was going to happen. Something needs to change.

PARTICIPATION TROPHY

This is what they want in the CFP. ↑↑↑

• North Texas (10-1, 6-1) finishes with Temple. They will have to win the AACCG for a chance at the Participation Award slot.

• Tulane (9-2, 6-1) didn’t exactly destroy Temple, 37-13, but the Committee keeps driving back and forth in front of their house.

• The Committee is not giving Navy (8-2, 6-1) any love.

• Memphis (8-3, 4-3) and South Florida (8-3, 5-2) are out of the running.

• San Diego State (9-2, 6-1) is a longshot.

• The Sun Belt’s James Madison is now 10-1 after a close home W against Wazzu, 24-20. SORRY, VANDERBILT! THE CFPC THINKS JMU IS MORE WORTHY!

• In his first season with Florida International, coach Willie Simmons has the Panthers at 6-5. He was formerly the coach at FAMU and rang up a 45-13 record with the Rattlers over 5 seasons. After one season as an assistant at Duke, he was hired by FIU and he returns them to a bowl game for the first time since 2019 when Butch Bygod Davis was calling the shots.

• The following teams picked up win No. 6: CLEMPSON, Duke, NC State, Northwestern, La Tech, FIU, Miami-OH, UTSA, Utah State.

• UMass (0-11) would go on to lose 42-14 and is on the verge of a Triple Golden Sombrero with 12 defeats (3x four strikeouts). They host Bowling Green (3-8).

• Boston College and Oklahoma State are both 1-10.

• Georgia State also has that record. How has that guy not been canned?

• Charlotte, the team that UGA so bravely fought, also has one win, but at least their coach is in Year 1.

• Four MAC teams stand at 7-4 atop the league. One is at 6-5 and one at 5-6. The other 7 have clinched losing records.

• The following teams picked up defeat No. 7 this past week: Bill Belichick’s UNC, Maryland, Wyoming, FAU!, Liberty, Kent State, Ball State.

Krazy Kristi’s “SHUT UP!” of the Week goes to ESPN and the CFP and their continued history of a dumb calendar. The two organizations have agreed to an extension of next season’s playoff-format deadline to Jan. 23, 2026. The original deadline was Dec 1. Seriously, why such an early deadline? THE SICK REPORT

• Linebacker and Name of the Week candidate Kygnstonn Viliamu-Asa has been ruled out for the rest of the season after suffering a knee injury against Syracuse.

• LSU former starting quarterback Garrett Nussmeier has allegedly re-injured an abdominal injury, but it sure seems like he is peacing out.

THE QUIT REPORT

• Rumors have been flying around that QB Sam Leavitt is planning to leave Arizona State and enter the transfer portal. On3 claimed “Leavitt’s camp is actively shopping the talented passer ‘at a high level’.” Kenny Dillingham was asked by reporters of Leavitt exploring a transfer and he stated “I’m focused on Colorado” and quickly changed the subject.

DRAMARAMA

• The latest Georgia Bulldog to befoul the driving laws resulted in a dismissal. Offensive lineman Nyier Daniels faces multiple felony and misdemeanor charges following an incident in which he allegedly fled law enforcement. Daniels’ mother, Brandi Canada-Green, was also charged with one felony and five misdemeanor charges in the incident. [SIDE NOTE: How is it that they have three last names among them and none in common?] The police incident report states that an officer stopped Canada-Green for running a stop sign and that Daniels then passed the officer at more than 100 mph in a 25 mph zone. The officer left Canada-Green to pursue Daniels, and then she allegedly used her vehicle to block the officer’s supervisor from joining in the chase. Daniels, who had siblings in his vehicle, allegedly drove more than 150 mph during the pursuit. Officers lost sight of his vehicle and pulled over, waited for Canada-Green to pass and arrested her. Daniels is buried in the depth chart which probably was the reason for the expulsion. If he was a starter, it probably would have been crickets. UGA has had 23 incidents since January 2023 and nobody gives Kirby Smart hell for it. If we had a Commissioner…

• Something called the College Sports Commission is supposed to be the new enforcement agency of college sports. LOL. They have asked all schools under its purview to agree to waive their right to challenge future punishments in court as part of an agreement that would give the agency significant power to investigate and punish rule breakers in the era of NIL deals and direct athlete payments. We’ll see how that goes.

• The classy Cincinnati fans repeatedly chanted “[F—] the Mormons” as BYU was on its way to a 26-14 win. The Cincy AD offered apologies, but they can expect a $50,000 fine similar to the one that Colorado got under similar circumstances.

• Disgusting jerkwad Art Briles has been hired as football coach at Eastern New Mexico. I hope they lose every game.

• Kudos to Virginia Tech for 1) going out and getting a high-ceiling replacement, and 2) getting him in mid-November. National Signing Day is a week from Wednesday on Dec 3. Franklin has the opportunity to flip a few prospects who are committed elsewhere and perhaps nab some from his old school, Penn State. He also will have a head start on the Transfer Portal which opens Jan. 2. Franklin signed a 5-year, $41.75M+ deal.

• Rumors have been making the rounds that Steve Sarkisian was looking to leave the Texas Longhorns. On Wednesday, he rebuffed those claims saying that he was “not going anywhere.”

• It had been reported that Tulane head coach Jon Sumrall was interviewing with Florida last Thursday but then it didn’t happen. While it is unclear who canceled on who, Sumrall needs to realize that he is the pretty girl at the high school dance. He doesn’t need to rush this thing.

• In his weekly presser, Colorado coach Deion Sanders pleaded his case: “You’ve got the right man,” Sanders told reporters. “I promise you, you do. And I’m going to prove that to you. Just give me an opportunity and a little more time, and I’m going to prove that to you.” Sounds like Hugh Freeze and his “so dang close” comment a few weeks ago. Sanders has already clinched his second losing season in three years with the Buffaloes.

• Urban Meyer’s wife was feeling frisky and told Urbie, “tie me up and you can do anything you want.” So he tied her up and went golfing.

• Fat F*** Phil Fulmer went to the doctor who instructed him, “Don’t eat anything fatty.” As FFPF was leaving he said, “Thank you, Doctor.” The doctor replied, “You’re welcome, Fatty.”

TEEVEE

• Oklahoma at Alabama drew a huge number of 10.5 million viewers on ABC.

• Not far behind was Texas at Georgia with 10.4 million, also on ABC.

• South Carolina at Texas A&M made it a clean sweep on the podium with 4.3 million on ESPN.

• The game that GameDay turned to instead of much more intriguing SEC games, Notre Dame at Pitt, landed in fourth with 4.0 million, interestingly enough also on ABC.

• Michigan at Northwestern at Wrigley Field got 3.8 million on FOX.

• And waaaaay down in sixth place was adorable little UCLA at Ohio State who all the wonks say people want to see. They garnered 3.4 million for sad little NBC.

• Josh Cuevas, Germie Bernard, and Parker Brailsford all missed the Eastern Illinois game. Cuevas and Brailsford were spotted in medical boots. Bernard and Brailsford are expected to be back for the Iron Bowl. Kalen DeBoer mysteriously said on Monday that they will “keep evaluating” tight end Cuevas this week.

• Qua Russaw made his return to action after several weeks off. He recorded one solo tackle and one assist.

• 97 Tide players saw game action.

• Bama OC Ryan Grubb called the game from the sideline rather than the booth. From DeBoer’s remarks, it sounds like they were just experimenting.
