What better place to spend your Thanksgiving break than on Florida's sunny Gulf Coast? That's exactly what the UNC basketball team will be doing.
North Carolina begins its challenging, 2-game slate in the Fort Myers Invitational on Tuesday evening, facing the undefeated St. Bonaventure Bonnies at 6 p.m. The Tar Heels (5-0) rolled through their first five opponents with little resistance, while St. Bonaventure (5-0) faced a couple close calls.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementUNC looks like a completely different team this season, with 11 new players and much-needed, increased positional size across the roster. Star freshman Caleb Wilson, arguably amongst the country's top players, is leading North Carolina with a double-double through his first five games.
The Bonnies are led by Minnesota transfer Frank Mitchell, a 6'8" forward who averages a double-double himself. Wilson averages 20.6 points and 10 rebounds per game, while Mitchell averages 16 points and 10.6 rebounds per game. Expect a battle between the freshman phenom and veteran journeyman.
St. Bonaventure lacks a signature win on its schedule so far. The Bonnies beat Bradley and Youngstown State by a combined 10 points, while handling Canisius, Siena and Robert Morris.
The Tar Heels obliterated Central Arkansas and NC Central, while beating Radford comfortably. UNC came back to down Kansas in an early-November classic, while escaping Navy in a closer-than-expected win last Tuesday.

UNC vs. St. Bonaventure prediction, picks, odds
The Tar Heels make their road debut on Tuesday, facing a Bonnies team looking for its first NCAA Tournament berth since 2021. St. Bonaventure is off to a great start, winning each of its first five contests, albeit against easy opponents.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementOutside of Kansas, you can make the argument North Carolina had an easy schedule. UNC dominated its first five opponents by an average of 24.8 points, while the Bonnies' largest win was a 19-point victory over Canisius.
The Tar Heels will be challenged Tuesday, but they're the better team. North Carolina plays another complete game – starting cold, but quickly responds and pulls away late in the second half.
Score prediction: UNC 78, St. Bonaventure 70
