Diggy Coit’s 41-point explosion against Mount St. Mary’s earned him his first conference honor as a member of Maryland men’s basketball.

The graduate guard was named Big Ten Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday.

Coit’s 41 points came on 11-of-17 shooting from the field and 8-of-10 from deep, including a long 3-pointer with a defender in his face to send the game to overtime. It was Coit’s career-high and the third-most points by a Terp in program history — the most in a game since Grievous Vasquez in 2010.

Coit had just 11 points Monday against UNLV, but eight of them came in the final three minutes — including two more 3-pointers.
