The beloved character is played by Ariana Grande-Butera in Wicked and Wicked: For Good. The second installment had a record-breaking box office debut, grossing $150 million domestically and $226 million worldwide.
Now, Harper Collins has announced that a novel titled Galinda: A Charmed Childhood by Gregory Maguire is being released in the fall of 2026. As the title indicates, the book will explore Galinda's childhood before she attended Shiz University and had her life forever changed after meeting Elphaba.
The novel is also being described as a "sister volume" to the bestselling Elphie: A Wicked Childhood, a book about Elphaba's childhood by Maguire that was published on March 25, 2025. A limited amount of deluxe Galinda editions with stenciled edges, designed endpapers, and other features are available with preorders now open. Check out the announcement post below:
