It’s Thanksgiving week, which brings with it plenty of college basketball tournaments all across North America. All eyes, though, will be on Las Vegas over the next few days.
Here’s everything you missed in the third week of the regular season, and the latest Associated Press poll.

Arizona might be the real deal.
Tommy Lloyd’s group picked up a third ranked win this past weekend in what is very likely the best start to a season anywhere in the country. The Wildcats held on late to beat UConn 71-67 on the road, which pushed them to a perfect 5-0. It also marked Lloyd’s eighth win over a top-5 opponent since he took the program over ahead of the 2021-22 campaign. That’s the most by any coach in their first five career seasons in the Associated Press poll’s history, according to ESPN.
Koa Peat looked much better in Storrs, too. After struggling against UCLA in their previous game, Peat dropped 16 points and had 12 rebounds against the Huskies. Jaden Bradley had 21 points to lead the way. Arizona still got the four-point win despite shooting just 2-of-10 from behind the arc.

Purdue remained undefeated, thanks to a big win over Texas Tech in the Baha Mar Championship on Friday. It marked the Boilermakers’ second major win this season. That kept them at No. 1 in this week's poll. Duke had a couple of blowout wins, too. The Blue Devils, who moved up to No. 4 are now 7-0 on the year entering Thursday’s game with No. 22 Arkansas.
Houston beat Rider by more than 40 points in its only game of the week, and ended up falling back to No. 3. The Cougars will be at the Players Era Festival this week in Las Vegas, however, and will take on No. 17 Tennessee and Syracuse in a two-day span.
That tournament is easily the best that Feast Week has to offer. The 18 teams in Las Vegas will play two games over the first two days before the top two teams that make it out of the group stage advance to the championship. A massive prize pool of reportedly up to $30 million is waiting for the teams, too. The event is going to expand to 32 teams next fall.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementMonday will feature games between No. 14 St. John’s and No. 15 Iowa State, and then No. 12 Gonzaga and No. 8 Alabama, among others. Kansas will go up against Notre Dame and Syracuse, and No. 7 Michigan will take on SDSU and No. 21 Auburn. Whoever survives and walks away from Las Vegas with the title will undoubtedly have bolstered their resume significantly headed into conference play.
Peat and Arizona, however, don’t have to deal with that. They’ve already done their time early this fall, and will go up against Denver and Norfolk this week. While Auburn and Alabama await next month before Big 12 play gets going, the Wildcats have a stretch to finally take a bit of a breath.
