Mays, a Wichita Falls High School graduate and stalwart as a center back, leads the Mustangs in minutes played. His presence on the back line has helped the maroon and gold post 11 clean sheets so far this season. The Midwestern State program recently won its fifth straight LSC tournament title, and the Mustangs are preparing for their 12th consecutive NCAA tournament appearance. Mays, who signed with MSU out of high school but later transferred out, is now back in his hometown of Wichita Falls and helping the Mustangs continue the legacy of success.
