Former LSU left tackle Will Campbell sustained a knee injury against the Bengals on Sunday afternoon and was carted off with a towel over his head. It looked like he was rolled up on at the end of a play late in the third quarter.
Campbell was the fourth overall selection in this year’s NFL draft, the latest Top 10 pick from LSU in a long list that includes recent stars like Jayden Daniels, Malik Nabers, Derek Stingley Jr., and more.

Campbell has had a strong start to his rookie season, starting all 11 games as the Patriots stormed their way to a 10-2 record. Campbell’s Pro Football Focus pass blocking grade of 75.0 is the top mark among rookies this season, and his 96.7 pass blocking efficiency rating is the third-best.
If Campbell’s injury proves to be serious, it has disastrous implications for the Patriots’ season. Their quarterback, Drake Maye, has already faced the third-most pressures among NFL quarterbacks this season. He’s performed relatively well in such situations, with the 12th-best offensive grade when under pressure this year, but Campbell’s absence could make it nearly impossible for Maye to find success.
